Body recovered from Colorado River after flash flooding in Grand Canyon

Human remains have been recovered from the Colorado River near Crystal Rapids in Arizona, more than two weeks after deadly flash flooding struck the Grand Canyon. The disaster, which occurred in late August, resulted in two confirmed fatalities at the time.

While officials have not yet formally identified the recovered remains, the National Park Service notes that 53-year-old hiker Timothy Smith was reported missing following the floods. Authorities report that with this recovery, only one hiker remains unaccounted for from the incident.
