Fraud in California: Food truck builder sentenced for defrauding immigrants of nearly $1 million

Fernando Jauregui Ochoa, the owner of 8A Food Trucks in California, has been convicted of 18 charges following a judicial investigation. The legal action dismantled a fraudulent scheme that targeted dozens of Latino workers, stripping them of nearly USD 1 million in their savings.

The victims had contracted Jauregui Ochoa with the aspiration of establishing and operating their own independent food truck businesses. Instead, the fraudulent operation resulted in significant financial loss, affecting numerous immigrant workers seeking economic self-sufficiency.
