Book on suicide launched

The Zambian government has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing suicide and mental health challenges following the launch of a new book on suicide in Lusaka. Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Permanent Secretary Kennedy Lishimpi announced that the National Suicide Prevention Strategy for 2027–2031 has reached an advanced stage.

The strategic framework is slated to be launched soon for nationwide implementation. The initiative underscores ongoing governmental efforts to combat rising mental health concerns and suicide rates within the country.
