Bougainville President condemns Panguna camp attack, vows mine reopening will proceed

Bougainville President Ishmael Toroama has strongly condemned an attack that occurred this morning at the Lloyds Metals camp in Panguna, Papua New Guinea. During the incident, personnel were assaulted and equipment was destroyed.

Following the violence, President Toroama vowed that those responsible will face the full force of the law. Despite the attack, he maintained that the planned reopening of the Panguna mine will proceed as intended.
