(File pic)PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested an Indonesian restaurant worker and her Bangladeshi boyfriend after the woman's five-year-old son died with bruises found on multiple parts of his body.The 30-year-old woman and her unemployed boyfriend, 34, were remanded by the George Town magistrates' court until July 30 to assist in the investigation under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act for child abuse.The man took the boy to a clinic near their flat in Gelugor after he started vomiting at about 10am yesterday, Berita Harian reported. The mother was at work.The clinic referred the boy to Penang Hospital after he fell unconscious but he was later pronounced dead.Hospital staff lodged a police report after discovering bruises on multiple parts of the victim's body.
Police are awaiting the autopsy results.
