BRIN is testing the use of cassava flour to extinguish forest and land fires.

The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), in collaboration with the Indonesian National Police (Polri), is currently conducting trials on the use of cassava flour as a medium for extinguishing forest and land fires. The initiative seeks to evaluate the efficacy of this organic material in suppressing fire activity.

Currently, the application of cassava flour for firefighting purposes remains in the experimental phase. BRIN has clarified that the project is still undergoing testing to determine its viability and practical utility in managing large-scale forest and land fires.
