Brussels highlights Spain's "necessary" work at the EU's external borders following the crisis in Ceuta

European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration Magnus Brunner held a conversation with Spain's Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, following the recent crisis in Ceuta. During the discussion, Brunner stated that Spain is performing an "important and necessary" job in protecting the external borders of the European Union.

In addition to praising Spain's border enforcement efforts, the European commissioner reiterated the EU's readiness to support member states facing migration pressures at their borders.
