Bucharest City Hall: Underground utility infrastructure works complicate tram track upgrades

Bucharest City Hall has announced that ongoing upgrades to the city's tram track infrastructure are facing complications due to the simultaneous renovation of underground utility networks. The project involves the modernization of approximately 50 kilometers of tram tracks, which is being conducted in tandem with the upgrading of over 70 kilometers of subterranean utility lines.

City officials report that the primary challenge stems from discrepancies between official documentation and the actual physical location of existing pipes and infrastructure. These unforeseen logistical difficulties have necessitated adjustments to the planned construction process as crews work to integrate the new utility networks with the tram line improvements.
