On August 19, Bulgaria reinforced its military defenses following intelligence regarding a potential Iranian attack targeting United States military assets located within Bulgarian territory.

The security measures were implemented after the British newspaper Financial Times reported on Wednesday that Tehran was contemplating potential retaliatory actions against U.S. interests in the region.
