NewzKINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall artistes Busy Signal and Wayne Wonder are set to be honoured with the Reggae Icon Award during Grand Gala celebrations on August 6, 2026. This was announced by Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange, during a post-Cabinet press briefing on Wednesday. "This year we will honour recording artistes Busy Signal and Wayne Wonder with the Jamaica Reggae Icons Award," Grange shared.
The minister said there will be a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Kingston being a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) creative city of music. It will also mark the 50th year of women in service in the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).
