Cables take over the landscape in the streets of Santo Domingo

The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel), the National District City Council (ADN), and the Unified Council of Electricity Distribution Companies (CUED) launched a collaborative initiative on Thursday in Santo Domingo. The project, titled “Retiro, Reubicación y Reorganización de Cableado de Telecomunicaciones,” aims to address the proliferation of overhead wires that currently dominate the city's urban landscape.

The effort focuses on the systematic removal, relocation, and reorganization of telecommunications cabling throughout the capital. By coordinating between telecommunications regulators, municipal authorities, and power distributors, the initiative seeks to mitigate the visual and structural impact of dense cable networks on public streets.
