Sixteen suspected members of "Los Ardillos" arrested after the murder of a National Guard agent in Guerrero

Authorities in Guerrero have arrested 16 suspected members of the criminal group known as "Los Ardillos," including the organization's financial operator, following an interinstitutional operation in the rural area of Acapulco. The arrests occurred in the wake of the killing of Eduardo Bustos Pérez, an agent of the National Guard whose body was found in the state alongside three other victims.

Prior to his death, Bustos Pérez had appeared in a video circulated on social media in which he alleged the existence of a complicity network linking commanders of the National Guard to the local prosecutor's office. The operation and subsequent detentions directly connect the law enforcement response to the high-profile killing of the security agent in the region.
