Cuba sees industrialized countries as "primarily responsible" for climate change

During statements issued in Havana and conveyed through the United Nations on a Thursday, Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodríguez declared that industrialized nations are the primary entities responsible for climate change and asserted that they should pay the debt associated with this environmental crisis.

Simultaneously, official data released on the same Thursday by the National Office of Statistics revealed a significant contraction in Cuba's tourism sector. The island nation recorded 450,353 international visitors between January and August, representing a 64.4 percent decrease compared to the same period in the previous year, following an arrival of only 30,490 visitors during the preceding month, which has negatively impacted the domestic economy.
