California approves the strictest US standards to protect homes from wildfires

California has approved the strictest regulations in the United States aimed at protecting residential homes from wildfires. The new standards address the mechanism by which extreme wildfires spread beyond the primary fire front, as strong winds transport burning embers over distances of several kilometers to ignite dry vegetation near properties.

Separately, a major fire incident occurred in the Sarita Colonia area of Callao, near Avenida El Emisor, resulting from an electrical short circuit. The blaze destroyed multiple homes and left dozens of families in vulnerable circumstances after losing all of their belongings.
