California becomes 1st US state to officially recognize Muslim holidays

California has become the first U.S. state to officially recognize the two major Islamic holidays, Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The legislation was signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom, establishing formal state recognition for these observances.
