Capturan en Valencia y Almería imágenes de uno de los fenómenos atmosféricos más extraños del cielo: ¿qué son los ‘duendes rojos’?

On the early morning of Thursday, September 10, rare atmospheric phenomena known as red sprites were observed and captured in Ayora, Valencia, and along the coast of Almería, Spain. These electrical discharges occur high above thunderstorms and are considered one of the most difficult celestial events to document due to their brief duration and high altitude.

Red sprites are luminous, transient events that appear in the upper atmosphere. Their appearance over Spanish territory provided a rare opportunity for observation, highlighting the elusive nature of these phenomena which typically remain hidden from ground-level view under normal conditions.
