Sport Boys is currently experiencing a significant performance decline, highlighted by three consecutive losses to Alianza Atlético within a 14-day period, including a 3-1 defeat at home in Callao during the eleventh round of the tournament. This poor run of results has led the club to pause contract renewal negotiations with head coach Carlos Desio.
The organization has deferred a final decision regarding the future of the coaching staff until the conclusion of the 2026 Liga 1 season. This shift in status marks a notable downturn for the team, which had previously been in a more favorable competitive position.
