Catastrophic Flood Hits Nepal, Engulfing Crowds and Causing Quake

A catastrophic flood struck the border region between Nepal and Tibet, resulting in at least 160 deaths and hundreds of missing people. The disaster was triggered by an avalanche composed of mud, water, ice, and rocks that smashed down into the area.

The deluge engulfed crowds present in the border region, compounding the disaster by also causing an earthquake. Local authorities have launched search and recovery efforts as the full scale of the casualties and destruction continues to be assessed in the affected mountain zones.
