Charges to be dropped against 5 pro-Palestinian protesters at Stanford after mistrial

Prosecutors announced on Monday that criminal charges will be dropped against five pro-Palestinian demonstrators following a mistrial in their earlier court case this year. The defendants faced trial in connection with a 2024 protest that took place at Stanford University.

Under the agreement, the formal charges against the five individuals will be completely dismissed on the condition that they successfully complete community service and pay restitution.
