On September 13, the Servicio Sismológico Nacional (SSN) reported two distinct seismic events in the state of Chiapas, Mexico. The first tremor, measured at a magnitude of 4.0, occurred at 11:49 hours, located 143 km southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo. A second earthquake, also registering a magnitude of 4.0, took place later that day at 13:35 hours, situated 81 km southwest of Mapastepec.

These seismic activities are part of the routine monitoring conducted by the SSN in a region known for frequent tectonic movement. Preliminary official reports provided the specific timing and epicentral coordinates for both events, confirming that both quakes reached an intensity of 4.0 on the magnitude scale.
