China's hydrogen production capacity tops 51 million tonnes, renewable capacity doubles

China’s annual hydrogen production capacity exceeded 51 million metric tons by the end of 2025, up about 1.4% from a year earlier, while actual output rose 7.3% to more than 39 million metric tons , according to a report released Tuesday by the National Energy Administration. China aims to build more than 100 million metric tons of annual coal production reserve capacity by 2030.
