China conducts air, naval drills around disputed Scarborough Shoal in South China Sea

The Chinese military has conducted joint air and naval drills in the vicinity of the Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea. These exercises were designed to evaluate combat readiness and reinforce China’s claims of territorial sovereignty in the disputed region.

In conjunction with these military maneuvers, China announced the implementation of new regulations for the area designated as the Huangyan Island National Nature Reserve. The China Coast Guard is expected to increase its presence and enforcement activities as part of these updated administrative measures.
