Chinese state media accuses the US of using a "Cold War playbook" against its AI

The Global Times, a state-affiliated newspaper, has criticized the United States for allegedly employing a 'Cold War playbook' to hinder China's technological progress under the guise of mitigating AI-related risks.

Simultaneously, China's Minister of State Security, Chen Yixin, has called for the establishment of a 'security barrier' to regulate artificial intelligence. This proposal comes amidst shared concerns in both Beijing and Washington regarding the potential political, social, and technological risks posed by the rapid advancement of AI systems.
