On Tuesday, a U.S. military plane landed at an airport in Moscow, Russia, carrying passengers that included CIA Director John Ratcliffe. The visit by the head of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency to the Russian capital was initially conducted as a secret trip.

The unannounced arrival brings high-level U.S. intelligence leadership directly to Russia amid ongoing geopolitical tensions and diplomatic engagement between Washington and Moscow.
