Colonial City and its new pilot plan for traffic

Beginning on Monday, August 17, authorities in the Dominican Republic are launching a traffic-calming pilot plan in the historic Ciudad Colonial of Santo Domingo. The initiative aims to restrict through-traffic within the most monumental polygon of the historic district.

By limiting vehicular thoroughfare, the project seeks to prioritize the mobility and safety of local residents, visitors, and pedestrians within the colonial zone.
