Trial in the Jet Set case adjourned until September 4

Judge Franny González of the Fourth Penal Chamber of the National District has adjourned the trial against Antonio and Maribel Espaillat until September 4. The legal proceedings concern the collapse of the Jet Set nightclub, which took place on April 8, 2025. The court session was recessed to allow for the continuation of the trial at a later date.

Separately, the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) has scheduled a follow-up session for September 8. This meeting will focus on the ongoing performance evaluations of seven judges serving on the Supreme Court of Justice. The council intends to continue its review process following its most recent session.
