Miami has ascended to the No. 1 position in both the AP and Coaches Polls for Week 8 of the college football season. This shift follows a weekend of significant upsets that caused Georgia, Alabama, and Texas to slide in the rankings.
BYU also experienced a notable rise in the polls, moving into the top five and reaching the No. 2 spot in the AP rankings following a victory over Notre Dame. The loss caused Notre Dame to drop six spots in the Coaches Poll, reflecting the volatility in the current rankings as voters react to the recent chaotic slate of games.
