Dominican school demonstrates classrooms are better without cell phones

In September 2019, students at The Community for Learning (TCFL) in the Dominican Republic began a new policy requiring the restriction of mobile phone use during school hours. Upon arrival, students were provided with numbered fabric pouches equipped with magnetic locks to secure their devices for the duration of the day.

The initiative was implemented to evaluate the impact of a phone-free environment on the classroom experience. The school's demonstration suggests that the removal of mobile devices contributes to improved educational settings.
