Historic school in Chiclayo suffers collapse of one of its walls, raising concerns about risk to 700 high school students

On the night of Friday, August 14, one of the exterior walls of the historic Pedro Abel Labarthe school in downtown Chiclayo collapsed. The affected structure was built primarily using traditional adobe and quincha materials.

The unexpected structural failure has raised immediate safety concerns for the approximately 700 secondary school students who attend the institution, highlighting vulnerabilities in the historic facility's infrastructure.
