Barriers are being placed to trap debris in the Yaque del Norte River

The Council for the Support of Jarabacoa (Coaja), an organization composed of local business owners and merchants, has launched a pilot program to preserve the Yaque del Norte River. The initiative involves the installation of bio-barriers designed to capture solid waste, with a primary focus on intercepting plastics before they further contaminate the waterway.
