A total solar eclipse is scheduled to occur on August 12, beginning at 17:34 in the Bering Sea and concluding at 21:58 in the Atlantic Ocean, spanning a total duration of 264 minutes. The event has prompted widespread public guidance regarding safety protocols, specifically the necessity of using homologated protective eyewear to prevent permanent retinal damage or blindness caused by solar radiation.

In preparation for the event, the European Space Agency, in collaboration with the City Council and the University of León, has organized a comprehensive viewing program at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in León. Authorities are also advising the public on logistical preparations, including strategies to avoid traffic congestion and measures to mitigate the risk of fires during the observation period.
