Iran's hardliners "sabotaged" Tehran's peace deal with Trump, according to the New York Times.

According to a report by the New York Times, Iran's hardline faction sabotaged a peace agreement between Tehran and United States President Donald Trump. The disruption occurred when hardliners launched an unauthorized attack against a vessel in the Strait of Ormuz, thereby violating a previously agreed-upon ceasefire.

In a separate domestic development involving media and press freedom, the U.S. Department of Justice dispatched FBI agents to journalists' homes to issue subpoenas and, in at least one instance, seized electronic devices using a court order. Concurrently, the Pentagon dismissed the editor and director of its traditionally independent newspaper, Stars and Stripes.
