In Santa Marta, the remains of José Luis Pérez Villanueva, also known as alias Cholo or "Comando 25" and identified as the second-in-command of the criminal group Los Pachenca, were received alongside the bodies of six other individuals who were killed during a security operation against the organization. The arrival of the caskets was marked by a motorcycle parade.

Separately, in Juchitán de Zaragoza, municipal police forces have come under suspicion following the arrest of Mayor Miguel Sánchez Altamirano. Local residents and authorities have alleged that the municipal police maintained ties with Los Cromos, a criminal cell linked to the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).
