Three South Korean soldiers were injured last week following explosions caused by landmines within the demilitarized zone. On Tuesday, officials in Seoul officially attributed the blasts to North Korean mines, characterizing the incident as a violation of the existing armistice agreement.

In response to the incident, the South Korean government has formally accused Pyongyang of responsibility for the injuries. Seoul has further indicated that it intends to implement retaliatory measures in response to the breach of the armistice.
