Congress members warn that Tolima faces a $300.561 billion cut in the 2027 Budget: they ask the Government to review the allocations

Lawmakers in Colombia have sounded the alarm over a projected funding reduction of $300.561 million facing the department of Tolima under the proposed 2027 national budget. Representatives have urged the national government to review and adjust the allocated line items currently moving forward in congressional discussions.

Simultaneously, in the Dominican Republic, the government of President Luis Abinader announced a separate state budget projection for 2027 totaling 2.037 trillion pesos, which represents approximately 21.2 percent of the country's Gross Domestic Product. This proposal was reviewed by the Council of Ministers.

While the reports share a focus on fiscal budgeting for the year 2027, they address distinct geographic regions and separate administrative actions, highlighting localized budget debates in Colombia alongside broader national expenditure projections in the Dominican Republic.
