Cost of inclusive education for students with specific needs

Between 2014 and 2025, special education in the Dominican Republic has received an average of less than 0.35 percent of the total budget of the Ministry of Education. This funding level persists despite the significantly higher financial requirements associated with specialized instruction.

Data indicates that educating students with specific disabilities can cost up to 35 times more than the cost of educating a regular student.
