Couple’s $223k claim dismissed after ERA finds they operated sushi outlet as ‘de facto owners’

A Tauranga couple who sought $223,000 in wage arrears from a sushi outlet have had their claim formally dismissed by the Employment Relations Authority (ERA).

The dismissal followed an ERA finding that the couple operated the business not as standard employees, but rather as its "de facto owners."
