Court freezes transfer of crocodiles to prison moat, putting Ben Gvir’s plan on hold

The Jerusalem District Court has issued a temporary freeze on a state plan to transfer Nile crocodiles to a moat surrounding Ketziot Prison. The judicial intervention follows a legal petition filed by an animal rights group objecting to the controversial security measure.

Under the court's directive, the state has been given until Wednesday to respond to the petition. The plan, championed by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, was intended to fortify the prison facility's perimeter before being halted by the court order.
