CPPE warns against return to petrol subsidy, proposes targeted relief

The Centre for the Promotion of Private Enterprise (CPPE) has issued a warning against any return to the petrol subsidy, advocating instead for targeted relief measures.

The warning comes in response to renewed calls for the reinstatement of the fuel subsidy, which notably includes a pledge by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar to restore a targeted petrol subsidy should he be elected in 2027.
