Creation of new entities clashes with austerity measures

Legislators in the Dominican Republic are currently advancing more than 30 legislative proposals to establish new government institutions, including several new ministries. This legislative push occurs simultaneously with the executive branch's public commitment to implementing austerity measures aimed at reducing state spending.

The simultaneous pursuit of institutional expansion and fiscal restraint has created a policy conflict within the government. While the administration emphasizes the need for budgetary discipline, the legislative branch continues to promote the growth of the state apparatus through the creation of new entities.
