Crisis del tabaco en Villa González y el Cibao

Producers of tobacco from Villa González and other communities in the Cibao region have declared the local tobacco sector to be on the brink of bankruptcy. The ongoing crisis stems from millions of pounds of the tobacco leaf remaining unsold and stored in local warehouses and ranches.

The situation was made public during a press conference held by sector representatives, highlighting the severe commercialization bottlenecks threatening the livelihood and economic stability of agricultural producers in the area.
