Carla Suárez renews as captain of the Spanish BJKC team until 2029

Former professional tennis player Carla Suárez has renewed her contract as captain of the Spanish national team for the Billie Jean King Cup. The agreement, finalized in the presence of the president of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, extends her tenure for the next three seasons, running through 2029. Suárez, 38, will continue to lead the squad in international competition under the sponsorship of Iberdrola.

In a separate development regarding Spanish national sports teams, coach Sonia Bermúdez has announced the roster for the women’s absolute football team’s upcoming October friendlies against the United States. The squad features four new additions—Oihane, Clara Pinedo, Ainhoa Marín, and Ornella Vignola—while notable player Aitana Bonmatí is absent from the current selection.
