Cuba power grid collapse leaves millions without electricity again

Cuba experienced its seventh massive power grid collapse of the year on Friday, leaving millions of residents without electricity. The island nation of over nine million people faces constant power cuts stemming from the deteriorating condition of its aging thermoelectric plants.

The energy crisis has intensified significantly since January following the implementation of a de facto energy blockade by Washington. With the latest nationwide blackout, local residents report that there is currently no way to determine when electricity service will be restored.
