Cuba anticipates extended power outages affecting up to 70 percent of the country during peak afternoon and evening hours on Sunday, according to official forecasts from Havana.

The upcoming disruptions follow a week marked by severe instability in the national electrical grid, which included a double total failure of the Sistema Electroenergético Nacional (SEN).
