Cuba partially restores electricity service after two consecutive nationwide blackouts

Cuba has partially restored its electrical service across multiple areas of the country following two consecutive national blackouts. The partial recovery was achieved after interconnecting the National Electroenergetic System (SEN) across a vast geographic stretch, spanning from the westernmost province of Pinar del Río to the eastern province of Holguín.

The restoration efforts, reported on Tuesday, mark a step toward stabilizing the island's power infrastructure after the dual nationwide failures severely disrupted the electrical grid. Authorities continue working to fully restore power generation and transmission following the extensive collapses of the SEN.
