Cuba faces yet another nationwide blackout as electrical grid collapses

Cuba’s national electrical grid experienced a total collapse late Sunday, resulting in a nationwide blackout. The state-owned utility confirmed the failure on social media, marking the first such incident in August for the island nation of 10 million people.

This event follows a period of significant instability for the country's power infrastructure. Prior to this latest failure, Cuba had already endured three nationwide blackouts throughout the month of July.
