Daniel Noboa sent a message to Abelardo de la Espriella after the capture of the wife and daughter of alias Fito: “Together and with results”

Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa publicly acknowledged the collaborative security efforts between Ecuador and Colombia following the arrest of Inda Mariela Peñarrieta Tuárez and Michelle Jamileth Macías Peñarrieta. The two women, who are the wife and daughter of José Adolfo Macías Villamar, known as alias Fito, were detained in Colombia as they are wanted by the justice system. Fito is the identified leader of the criminal organization Los Choneros.

Noboa characterized the operation as a demonstration of effective cross-border cooperation, stating that the arrests were achieved through working "together and with results." The development marks a significant point in the ongoing regional efforts to dismantle the leadership structures of criminal groups operating within Ecuador.
