De la Espriella reports 35 dead and 188 missing in Cali due to the earthquake

An earthquake of magnitude 7.4 struck Colombia on a Monday, causing severe destruction and casualties primarily centered in the city of Cali. According to reports from the president, Abelardo de la Espriella, the disaster resulted in 35 fatalities and left at least 188 people missing solely within Cali.

In addition to the confirmed deaths and missing persons, the disaster left approximately 700 individuals injured. The seismic event also caused widespread infrastructure damage, leaving around 5,000 homes either completely destroyed or significantly affected throughout the city.
