Deforestation in the Amazon reaches a new record low

Official data released on Friday show that the Brazilian Amazon reached its lowest level of deforestation in the past decade. Between August 2025 and July, a total of 2,874 square kilometers were logged in the region.

This development confirms a downward trend in deforestation that has been observed since the beginning of the administration of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
