Loan Peña's family denounced maneuvers to stop the investigation: "The truth cannot be stopped"

On July 31, the family of Loan Danilo Peña issued an extensive public statement denouncing maneuvers to obstruct the judicial investigation into the case. In their declaration, the family questioned recent complaints lodged against the federal judge in Goya and demanded that no active line of investigation be closed.

Separately, in an unrelated development on August 3 in Los Angeles, a coalition of 23 state attorneys general and two governors filed a lawsuit against the administration of President Donald Trump. The legal action challenges a federal plan seeking access to personal data of vulnerable children and families participating in public assistance programs, with the intent to share such information with immigration authorities.
